Life-Saving Station

Redningsstationen

The life saving station is owned by Mandø Museum. It was in function as life saving station from 1912 till 1961.

During that time the station was part of a major rescuing action by the loss of the fishing vessel "Valborg" of Fanø, where 2 men were rescued. Besides in some minor actions.

The closed down station was in 1980, by the owner Villum Kann Rasmussen conveyed to Mandø Trade Foundation, which again handed it over to Mandø Museum in 2009.

The life saving station holds Ingeborg Jørgesen's handicraft and souvenir shop. Open during the tourist season.

Entrance fee: Adult 20 kr. - Child 10 kr. Discount for groups over 12 persons: 15/7
